We contacted Fiona in July 2024 and got married June 2025. Fiona went above and beyond our expectations. Everything was beautiful and she delivered on every detailed I asked for and more! Decor, drinks and cake were all amazing! The property was beautiful as well! I have included some photos of our special day! All flowers seen in photos are REAL including the HUGE ARCH😍 My only complaints were the photographer did not do a great job posing the group or getting memorable photos. The videographer did not do so great either because my whole ceremony was obstructed by tree limbs but otherwise, EVERYTHING ELSE WAS BEAUTIFUL! I would hire FIONA again and do it all over again with those minor changes. I hope this helps! Best wedding cake I've ever had. So shout out to the baker. Fiona and niccole helped my WC bound MIL down to the ceremony area. Fiona was very accommodating when we forgot the rest of the money on the cruise ship and allowed my friends to go get it after the ceremony while we were taking pictures. I would not say Hotel Cozumel is beach front it is more water front. There are walls and ladders down to the "rocky water" so we was told. We was told it was not recommended for swimming. It took us roughly 30 mins to get into our room which cut into our time to get ready but we was ready on-time. We also did not have our room for the whole day like we had discussed in emails and was told day of we only had it until 1pm because they were booked up. With that being said it left us with no where but the bar bathroom to get changed in after the ceremony and pictures and We had to carry our stuff to the ceremony with us. We also was not told of the limitations on the drinks we were allowed to have until the day of the event we was under the assumption everything was included. The food was very subpar and a very weird combination of foods. Because of all the above we choose to explore the island after the ceremony and lunch and not take advantage of the accommodations we paid for. The photographer did not take any pictures of us getting ready like stated in our contract. When I received the pictures they did not look like they had been edited at all to get the best pictures possible. If I were a photographer I would have been embarrassed at some of the pictures that where sent without editing. This is at no fault of fionas at all. Fiona did reach out to the photographer for me about editing them for me. All in all the wedding ceremony was beautiful, the decorations where beautiful and that CAKE was amazing. Yes there was some hiccups we did not expect but we made the most of it. Although, we didn't use her services in the end, she was always available to answer questions and helped us navigate some issues with our hotel planner. We simply can not say enough about Fiona and Something Special Wedding & Event Planners! Fiona came saved the day for us, she was professional, sweet, easy to work with, an absolute a blessing. We had a nightmare planner who would not communicate with us at all. She would send a text and then disappear for "days". This type of scenario is not ideal for a couple with only 8 weeks to plan a wedding. Later we found out, she did not speak English and did not have an interpreter on staff. I will not post her name or the name of her company, I do not do those sorts of things. I will tell you she wasted 2 weeks of precious time before Fiona stepped in and saved us! I communicated with Fiona on "WhatsApp" several times however, when I felt I needed to speak with her, she did not hesitate to call me. She was right on top of everything, she did not miss a beat! I sent her pictures of the dresses, my husbands suit, the colors, explained I our desires and we were on the same page from beginning to end! The cake was absolutely delicious. It was so moist and honestly, I don't think I have had better wedding cake. Our wedding photos are absolutely gorgeous! Tiana did an amazing job. We are elated! The location turned out absolutely perfect. It was low key, everything in one place, relaxed but pretty and not ostentatious. It was just what we wanted! FIONA, GOD BLESS YOU! Planning a distance wedding is fun, my daughter planned a traditional wedding and I would rather plan a distance wedding than anything! The contract was clear, it had all the options and what they cost. Fiona was wonderful to plan with and made it easy for me to choose and my husband to engage also (he’s not into planning so I had little time to ask him) her process was so smooth and concise that I had enough times to include him before he got bored. When we arrived the room to get ready in had flowers and was decorated cute! A little towel animal on the bed also (we came off a cruise ship to do our ceremony, so these just tickle me!). The photographer captured the most amazing things, the emotions and the memories! When I walked down the aisle, Fiona surprised me with my favorite color runner! I was elated! She cared enough to throw special touches in just for me! I still remember that day vividly. The weather was perfect and ceremony too! When we walked out I had requested Innagaddadavida, which was a last minute request by me, actually just a few days before our ceremony! The guitarist learned it in a short time and my husband was thrilled at the surprise! I requested snorkelers for our cake topper, gems on my flowers and specific flowers that Fiona got even being in a different country. Everything was exactly how I envisioned and was all done when I arrived, it was magical! I wouldn’t change a thing, except maybe the day last longer, and I would have gotten a photo with Fiona. 💜Everything was amazing and seamless! Thank you Fiona for all you do! From the “weeds” aka pampas grass to the chaise lounges, to ordering the cheese cloths and glassware and more weeds , then pillows and lanterns and rugs and blankets flying everywhere, this vision came to life with your professional execution.
You are seriously *the best*! All our 70 guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they’d been to. DJ Angel was the best DJ they’d ever had at a wedding, and Nicole’s cake was the best they ever tried at a wedding. The food was sooooo amazing, as a result of, my uncle had three plates of it, and so many more raving reviews, and they were all joking about coming back next year for a vow renewal haha. Not that I’ll ever ever ever do another wedding again, but maybe a birthday party or something because I just want to plan again with you! Haha love you, thank you, you’re seriously our miracle woman and dear friend for life now

After nearly four years of dating, we decided it was time to tie the knot — and we knew exactly where we wanted to celebrate: our favorite place on earth, Cozumel. With no time like the present, we set our date for July and began planning the wedding of our dreams.
We chose Punta Morena, a place full of history in our relationship and breathtakingly beautiful. Wanting something non-traditional, we gave Fiona and her team creative freedom — and they delivered beyond our expectations.
🍽️ Dinner & Drinks: Elegant arrangements, delicious food, and fantastic drinks. The highlight? A roasted banana cake with buttercream frosting — almost too pretty to eat!
🎶 The Band: Our guests couldn’t stop talking about their talent. The music set the perfect tone for the night.
🔥 Surprise Entertainment: Mayan fire dancers wowed everyone. We kept it a secret, and the jaw-dropping performance was truly epic.
💐 The Bouquet: Stunning enough that even flight attendants took photos of it on the way home. I brought it to my mother, who couldn’t attend, making it even more special.
The entire day was worry-free. Instead of stress, I was able to fully enjoy the celebration with our guests. Fiona’s practical, knowledgeable, and professional approach made everything seamless. By the end, she felt less like a planner and more like family.
